Hey Guys

This is going out as an E-mail and as posts on our Facebook and ERCHA page so forgive the redundancy.

Well it looks like 2017 is well underway and spring might actually arrive!  With that hope in mind I am trying to get some of club paperwork items sorted out.

First; If you haven’t renewed your club membership now would be a good time. (if you have Thanks!)  The membership form is on line at  http://www.ercha.ca/   or a direct link  http://www.ercha.ca/ApplicationForm2017.pdf  pls. fill it out (or I have to) and do one of the following, Scan and email to me, actual mail or give it to Ken or myself in person. You can send me a PM through this site or my contact info is in the "attention prospective forum members" post on the forum page.  If you are going to send a check by mail let me know and I will send you mail instructions.

We will be re-coding the locks at the field early in March, don’t get caught locked out.

Second; some of you are on my email list but not on our Facebook page and vis versa. You can join the Facebook page by sending me your email request and I will get you invited. It is for now a closed group. If you are not on my e-mail list let me know and I will get that fixed.

We will be scheduling a club meeting within the next month, watch for a notice about time and location.

That’s all for now

Thanks
Mark Richens

6  General Category / Helo Help Me / Re: aluminium soldering help on: August 22, 2015, 04:57:02 AM
First, what is the pack for? if it is primary power on an expensive machine with big current draw you maybe better off to replace the pack.  Second, are you sure its aluminum? if it is it is a challenge to solder at the best of times as it oxidizes rapidly.  It would be a bit odd for the tab to be Al connected to copper wire.

Let us know what you think and maybe someone can meet with you to give it a try.

Cheers

Hey Guys

With the dogged determination of an up stream Salmon Ken has fixed the Diesel  generator. Hopefully it is back to its old self.  The fuel is in the back half of the gen shed.  Please do not boost or charge the generator with the battery hooked up, meaning.... if it wont start walk away.....Wink

If you have anything but a perfect experience please let us know.

Cheers

Hey all

As most of you know we have set up a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/ercha.ca/   It is a closed group so you need to be a member to see the content.  Past and present members should have received an email with instructions on how to join.  If you haven't received the e-mail or would like access as a non ERCHA member pls pm me or post here.

In spite of my misgivings about the whole "Facebook thing" the page looks and works vary well and is getting lots of traffic from our active members so I will encourage everyone to give it a try.

See you over there!

Cheers

We got our first rain of any amount in weeks today. When I left the field today at 7:30 the rain had just started and it only lasted 1hr. I would say it will be just fine but you should check the local forecast for tomorrow or call before departing Edson. The field is in good shape but was bone dry as of yesterday.

As of now it is clear and dry with nothing on the weather radar.

Hope you guys can make it out.

As I trust you all know we have our annual Mid Summer Fun Fly this weekend.

What you may not know is that Ellerslie Road is closed between 50 st and 34st.  You will need to find one of many alternate routes but the easiest are straight up 34 off of the Whitemud or take 17 st off the Henday and double back to 34st on Ellerslie.

Hope to see you all out there over the weekend.

Cheers

Hey Mike

We will not speak of bad weather Shocked

You can leave the gates open any time after noon. leave the lock re-locked to the gate and swing them wide open.

Only reason not to would be if there is so much rain the road gets iffy (not bloody likely). The ground could soak up a ton of rain and still be bone dry in 10 minutes.

See you out there!!

Cheers

Hey Guys

The generator is off line again.  It seams that it is not charging its internal battery, once it is run down it shuts off.  I have taken the battery to charge and will do some research to determine the problem. DEREK HELP!!!!  sorry..... we will have it sorted one way or another quickly.

Post if you have any insite
