Hi, Does anyone have a method to remove a bearing from a shaft that is cemented on ? I tried heating it up with a soldering gun but could not remove it. Also how do you remove bearings, punch them out or off and throw them away ?  Thanks Ken

Not sure if it helps but I have had a similar problem before. I was able to put the shaft in a vice and close it enough to allow the shaft to slide up and down but the bearing couldn't go through. Then I lightly tapped the shaft with a hammer until the bearing gave way. The bearing is destroyed but the shaft remains unharmed.

Try oven instead of soldering gun. Usually it works better. Set temperature to 200C+ and leave shaft there for 10-15min. Then few hits with hammer usually do the trick.

I use a heat gun. Once hot I use a small box end wrench, slide it over the shaft and tap lightly with a hammer, works every time...  8)

Thanks for the ideas I will try to heat it. The only thing is that the shaft has 2 plastic gears on it. (tail belt gears) So I tried heating just the end with a soldering gun. If I put it in the oven it may melt the plastic. I ordered 2 new bearings and will keep it for a spare. Also I put together metal tail blade grips from Align with a KDE bearing upgrade, but when I move it side to side it has a little bit of movement more on one blade grip than the other. It may be the bearing inside the new tail grip. Should I order Quick UK metal tail blade grips instead and put the upgraded KDE bearing in each grip ?  Thanks Ken

Try a faucet puller from home depot.

Great for grabbing fans and bearings.  One of my most useful tools.
